I want to be able to just write shit and make it work without having to stress about whether my hardware can handle it if not. I know there are plenty of people that will tell me to consolidate and freeze tracks and use less tracks and all this other stuff and I’ve tried that but with very little success. I don’t want to stress about whether I can add a track or not because my computer can’t handle it. It has become a creative hindrance for me.

The closer I get towards finishing songs the more likely it is that my computer just CANNOT handle what I’m doing. My interface is a Steinberg UR22 so nothing special there. I currently run a MBP 2012 with a 1TB SSD, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, and I believe it has some sort of intel chip that’s 4 cores at 2.3 ghz.

I produce all sorts of different electronic genres, I use soft synths (a lot serum), I want to use orchestral sample based instruments (strings, choir, brass etc), and heavily process sounds. I’ve tried to do some research but haven’t quite found what I’m looking for and I want to make sure I’m getting everything I need. Pretty much what the title says, I figured this would be the best place to post because I’m not trying to build a newbie level machine but something that’s more advanced extremely capable of doing everything I need it to. Producing Basics (Compression, EQ, Staying Motivated included here!) These rules, are in place to keep content fresh, current, and moving forward, not to denounce your post as Incorrect or stupid.
